Welcome to I Candy, the perfect place to relax and unwind. I Candy, formerly known as Accent on Hair and Beauty, has been established for over 20 years offering the best treatments available.
Situated near the city centre of Bristol, we are a spa full of character with six treatment rooms spread over three floors, including a nail salon and a hair salon offering products and treatments to ladies and gentlemen. Relax and unwind and leave the salon feeling refreshed and looking your best.

Appointments must have 24 hours notice to cancel, or half the booked treatment will be charged. Cancellation of spa days and parties require one weeks notice, or the full fee will be non-refundable. If a therapist is unable to do your treatments, we reserve the right to rebook your treatment with another therapist.
Deposits may be taken on appointments over 1hr.
In case of illness, may we respectfully ask you to rebook your appointment if you have a heavy cold, flu or other "nasties".
To keep the salon environment relaxing, please switch off your mobile phone during your visit.
Please bring somebody with you to supervise your child whilst you are having your treatments as children are not allowed in the treatment cubicles. If a child is noisy, please arrange for them to be taken outside by your supervisor.

Hydradermie
The most advanced salon-exclusive facial for maintaining a healthy complexion. Hydradermie deep-cleanses, rehydrates and regenerates the skin using mild galvanic and high-frequency electrotherapy. A qualified Guinot therapist diagnoses the galvanic gels best suited to each individual skin type making Hydradermie a truly customised treatment.
Aromatic
This holistic aromatherapy treatment uses natural plant extracts and essential oils to balance the skin, soften fine lines and restore radiance. The hands-on facial is customised to suit each individual skin type and combines digital pressure and relaxing massage routines to instil a feeling of total wellbeing.
Beauté Neuve
This gentle peeling facial uses the powerful natural exfoliating properties of fruit AHAs, combined with pure vitamin C and anti-ageing ingredients to boost radiance, reduce pigmentation and re-hydrate and regenerate the skin.

Très Homme Hydradermie (For Men)
An enhanced version of the classic Hydradermie facial created for men. The machine-based treatment uses galvanic and high frequency electrotherapy to deep-cleanse, rehydrate and rebalance the skin. Specifically for men is the Energising Galvanic Gel containing burdock to regulate sebaceous secretions and allantoin to soothe.
Liftosome
This anti-ageing facial helps to firm, tone and brighten mature skin.

How does the system work?
The ECO IPL hair removal system produces a high intensity flash of filtered light from the applicator head which has been placed in contact with the skin. The energy from the light source is absorbed by the pigment melanin, which is the chromophore, which gives hair its colour. The hair rapidly absorbs this filtered light and transfers the surrounding cells that in turn are converted into heat raising them to a temperature of 0 degree Centigrade or more. The heating denatures the cells making them incapable of producing further hair growth.
How is the treatment carried out?
The glass applicator is placed in contact with the skin surface and the light is pulsed through it onto the skin. The applicator is then moved to the neighbouring area and the process is repeated. Can be applied to all areas of the face and body and all skin and hair colours for ladies and gentlemen.
Who can be treated?
Dark hairs are most easily treated due to the high concentration of melanin that gives maximum absorption and conversion of light energy into heat. Very fair hair has less melanin and consequently less heat is produced, simply raising the fluence output from the IPL. White hair has no melanin and cannot be efficiently treated. Suitable for any skin colour and hair type.
Does it hurt?
As the light energy is absorbed by the pigment melanin, the discomfort depends upon the concentration of melenin in the epidermis and the hairs combined. No anesthesia is required and most patients describe the pain as moderate and acceptable (as if a hairbrush has been tapped against the skin).
Does the client need to shave prior to the treatment?
Ideally, hairs should be 1 to 2mm long when the patient comes in for the treatment so it is possible to mark out the treatment area. Long hairs take up the energy and prevent all of it reaching the hair root. Therefore hair is trimmed just before for maximum transmission of the energy. If the hair is normally shaved and can be seen when shaven then patients can shave right up to the day of treatment. Although plucking and bleaching should not be done. By avoiding any other form or epilating and waxing 4 weeks before the treatment it ensures as many follicles as possible contain hair thus can be destroyed by the light.
Why do hairs "grow" after treatment?
Unlike other light depilation treatments, hairs are not vaporised by the ECO IPL treatment. The heat kills the hair roots but the hairs remain in the skin and often become attached to the epidermis. They will fall out after 1 to 3 weeks as the epidermis renews itself. During this period it will seem that the hairs are growing a little faster as the epidermis pushes them out.
How can you tell if the treatment has worked when the hairs are not removed immediately?
Various indications such as the colour of the hair becoming charcoal black and expanding in size or a red ring around each follicle is often seen after the treatment. These are good indications that sufficient heating of the follicles has taken place. Unfortunately this is not always seen and we have seen many patients with successful treatments results without the post treatment signs.
What are the side effects?
The visible light is completely safe so no special precautions are needed apart form glasses for the brightness generated by the flash lamp. The skin of some patients can go quite red immediately after treatment. However, most patients experience no side effects at all and the described skin reactions as above usually disappear within hours to a few days. Unlike electrolysis, the Eco Ipl treatment is non-invasive.
Back Hydradermie
This deep-cleansing, rehydrating and rebalancing treatment for the back ensures this hard-to-reach area is cleansed, toned, exfoliated, massaged and moisturised. Tailored to suit each client, Back Hydradermie uses a combination of plant-based gels, mild electrotherapy and manual massage to normalise oily/spot-prone skin and moisturise dry or dehydrated skin.
Bust Hydradermie
This anti-ageing and firming treatment for the bust and décolleté revitalises and rehydrates the support tissues of the breasts, resulting in smoother skin with a firmer and more youthful appearance. Like the Back Hydradermie, this treatment combines machine-based and manual massage to encourage deep penetration of the Guinot plant-based products, ensuring maximum effectiveness.
Aromatic Body Minceur
Targeting cellulite prone areas, this body contouring treatment combines relaxation with the detoxing and slimming benefits of anti-cellulite essential oils, massage, and natural mineral clays. The massage with green tea and cypress essential oils uses lymph drainage and acupressure techniques to break down and soften hardened cellulite, improving the appearance and texture of the skin. Unique to this treatment is the mineral clay body mask for the thighs, abdomen and buttocks that refines and firms the skin.
Aromatic Body Bien Etre
This invigorating body treatment tones and re-hydrates the skin using exfoliation and massage. The natural products used include an exfoliating sugar-kiwi body scrub and a blend of citrus-infused energising and toning essential oils. Specialised massage movements revive lethargic limbs and kneading and effleurage movements on the back and shoulders release tension.
Sugar-Kiwi Body Polisher
A complete body exfoliation treatment using Guinot's natural Sugar-Kiwi body scrub containing white and brown sugar, salt and kiwi seeds, plus nourishing and softening shea butter. This treatment eliminates dead surface skin cells and refines the skin's texture.
Pregnancy Pampering
Especially created for expectant mums, this treatment includes a full body exfoliation and lots of luxurious massage, as well as cleansing, toning, exfoliating and moisturising for the face with relaxing and rejuvenating plant-based products. Focusing on areas of the body that experience discomfort during pregnancy – such as ankles, feet, legs and lower back – the four-phase treatment leaves mums-to-be feeling rested and relaxed.
Self-tan Treatment
This professional tanning treatment for the face and body ensures an even, streak-free, natural-looking tan. Exfoliation of the face and body prepares the skin before expert-application of the self-tan products. Guinot's self-tan products are subtly fragranced and contain aloe vera to moisturise and soften.
Photo acne treatment
ACNE (ACTIVE)
It is estimated that around 60-70% of people in this country will suffer from Acne at some point in their lives. Today people are more conscious than ever about their appearance and it is no surprise that Acne is one the largest sources of complaint that therapists try to deal with. It is now possible to treat Acne using IPL technology to produce quite dramatic results in typically only 4-5 weeks.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The affected area is cleansed at first, and then treatment may commence. During treatment, what actually happens is that the light penetrates to deep within the skin and down into the Acne Pustule itself. There the light is absorbed and has two effects:
1. The bacteria within the pustule is heated and gently destroyed.
2. The production of naturally occurring chemicals within the body that attack this bacteria is stimulated. This results in a reduction of visible Acne as well as a reduction in the Acne's ability to regenerate.
Post acne Treatment
ACNE (POST)
Whilst acne sufferers will be happy to reduce and eventually get rid of their Acne, they are often left with some degree of scarring that is often displeasing especially around the facial area. These scars can now be treated using IPL therapy similar to that used for "Photorejuvenation". EcoLite IPL helps restructure the skin's surface to a smoother, younger appearance full of vitality.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Simply by stimulating the blood circulation which helps the skin regenerate naturally, and by penetrating deeper beyond the upper layers of skin where the body's natural reaction to the absorption of light is to produce extra collagen. This dual effect results in smoother renewed skin and visibly reduced scarring.
Spider veins (7)
Spider veins, thread veins or "red veins" These are among some of the more common complaints that therapists hear about. With EcoLite IPL it is now possible to gently treat these conditions with no need for costly surgery. The aim of treatment is to dissolve the smaller more superficial veins in a short period of time, whilst larger veins that cannot be dissolved have their flow sealed and cut off thus reducing any unattractive appearance.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Light from 600-1200 nanometers in pulsed into the skin via a glass applicator. Blood absorbs the light at a sufficient rate to heat up whilst minimising the skin's absorption, thus reducing the "heat" sensation that the skin would otherwise experience. The temperature within the blood vessel raises enough to collapse and break down gradually and to be naturally dispersed through the body.
Photo rejuvenation (8)
The desire for youthful skin tone and appearance is something that has intrigued people for thousands of years. More recently there have been many novel treatments available on the market, with varying degrees of success. The discovery of Intense Pulsed Light as a means of treatment is believed to be the greatest advance in this field for many years, and has taken the market by storm. Conditions that can be treated include:

HOW DOES IT WORK?
Treatments consist of several applications spread out at 2-3 week intervals. The amount of sessions needed varies from client to client, but typically 5-6 sessions will be sufficient. EcoLite IPL uses a broadband of light from 600-1200 nanometers that is gently transmitted via a glass applicator that is lightly placed on the skin. The light transmitted is then captured by the lower layers of skin, and tissue. This gently heats the area up and stimulates blood flow as well as collagen production. The result of this is renewed younger looking skin and smoother appearance.
What is Epil 2000?

The injections are made using a pre-filled syringe equipped with a very fine needle. The area in the dermis to be treated is typically only a few millimetres from the surface of the skin. A numbing agent is applied prior to treatment. You will be able to resume your normal professional and family life immediately after treatment. RESTYLANE AND PERLANE
Restylane and Perlane are injectable dermal fillers made from hylauronic acid produced in a gel form. They are hypo-allergenic and is safe to use instantly without skin pre-testing. Restylane is used for fine lines and Perlane for deeper lines and folds of skin. Either product can be used for lip enhancemet.
An important advantage of these products is the length of time they last in the tissues, providing long-lasting effects with minimal tissue disturbance. Nutrients, oxygen and hormones are able to pass freely between the gel particles, leaving the skin healthy during its time in the tissue. Restylane and Perlane are biodegradable. The body naturally absorbs hyaluronic acid, so it disappears over time without trace.

Botox is now the most common aesthetic procedure performed in the USA. It provides unparalleled treatment for frown lines, forehead lines and periorbital lines (crow's feet), as well as having a large number of specific clinical indications including migraine treatment and excessive underarm sweating. Botox blocks signal transmission at the nerve junction with the facial muscles, thereby relaxing them.
